Adding Smartlead Webhooks

A big part of our platform is having the ability to track unique data points such as meetings booked, time to lead, etc. In order to do this, there are two webhooks you need to add to your Smartlead account so we can be notified when lead statuses are updated, new email replies come through etc.

This guide will be broken into 2 sections; how to set up a webhook in Smartlead and the information for the three required webhooks. Repeat the first section for each webhook that you need to add.

Remember, you'll need to add these webhooks to each Smartlead account you manage. If you add clients to Acquisition OS and they are NOT on the same Smartlead account as you, you'll need to add the webhooks to their account.

How To Setup A Webhook In Smartlead

If you've never worked with webhooks before, they are essentially triggers that send information when a specific event happens. For example, you could have a webhook for every email reply that you receive which would send information about that reply to another platform.

You can have as many webhooks as you want and they are very secure as they don't require your API key and can only be triggered from your Smartlead account.

Step 1: Navigate To Your Smartlead Settings

Visit: https://app.smartlead.ai/

Make sure you are logged in as an admin.

Click on your profile picture in the top right corner.

Select 'Settings' from the pop-up menu.

Step 2: Navigate To Webhook Settings

From the left-hand sidebar, select 'Webhooks'.

Step 3: Adding A New Webhook

Select 'Add Webhook' from the top of the page.

Step 4: Configuring Your Webhook

You'll now see a new popup that will allow you to enter all the settings for your new webhook.

Webhook Name: What you want the webhook to be called, this should relate to what the webhook is used for so you can easily refer back to it in the future.

Webhook URL: The URL that the webhook will be sent to

Association Type: What campaigns the webhook will apply to? You can either select individual campaigns, campaigns for a specific client or all campaigns in your account.

Event Type: The trigger for the webhook such as a new email being sent, lead category being updated etc.

Event Options: For some of the Event Types, an additional dropdown will appear to configure the webhook further.

Sent Test Webhook: This will manually trigger the webhook and send test data to the server.

Add: This will finalise your webhook and activate it.

Below you will find all the details for the webhooks required for Acquisition OS. Before selecting 'Add', double check all the information has been input correctly or you could lose valuable data.
